Basic Linux Stuff

Dual-booting and Virtualisation

You want to use both OSs?

Dual-boot
  • Install both MS Windows and Linux on same machine/disk:
    • ensure MS Windows is first on the disk — in both space and time.
  • Access to only one OS at a time.
Virtualisation
  • VMWare; VirtualBox
  • Run two or more OS simultaneously — performance hit.
  • Make sure you have plenty of RAM (at least 2GB, pref. 4GB).
