  1. .rpm files are not a one-to-one map with packages, for example, the coreutils RPM provides both the fileutils and textutils packages (in RedHat 9 at least). Some of the --checkdeps codes assumes a one-to-one map: whilst installed rpms are checked correctly, local-updates and remote-updates are checked for rpm names only, not packages they contain.

  2. The subroutine find_rpm_on_net needs implementing (this handles the case where an updated package requires something to be installed that the un-updated package did not, and this something is not installed).
