Installation of RedHat 7.1 on an Intel Box


The Plan

After resisting change for as long as possible, to bite the bullet and upgrade my Intel box from RedHat 6.2 to RedHat 7.1 (skipping the dreadful 7.0) and, after installation, re-establish the symbiotic relationship with the users.

Decided to do an installation from scratch, not an upgrade since 7.1 is significantly different from 6.2.
