Overview of Solution
An examination of "Postscript" files produced by printer-specific
drivers on a Windows box showed that at least two methods of talking to
printers about paper-trays are in use:
- use the statusdict construct within the Postscript (see, for
example, The Postscript Language Reference Manual);
- for HP printers, stick some PJL (PCL) at the beginning of the file, before
the Postscript.
Perl code was written to add suitable Postscript and/or PJL to files sent
to the Cosmos print queues.
