Authentication and Passwords on Cosmos

eUMIST Authentication

Authentication on Cosmos now takes place through the eUMIST system so you will use the same username and password for Cosmos as you do for reading your email, for example.

Changing Your Password

This means that to change your password for Cosmos you must visit the usual web page, www.umist.ac.uk/isd/eUMIST/password/. Attempting to change your Cosmos password in the usual Unix way (using the passwd command) will fail.
